Wax Melt Guide
Welcome to the Snacky Co Info Hub!
Whether you're new to the world of wax melts or well acquainted we've put together a collective of FAQ & an informative guide to educate you.
What are Wax Melts?Wax Melts are small pieces of scented wax. They come in a vast range of shapes & sizes. Traditionally they are “cube”or “tart” shaped.
Here at Snacky Co, we LOVE snacks. So it only made sense to recreate everyones most loved snacks into one-of-a-kind wax melts!
How do they melt?
As wax melts are wickless you need a wax melter to use them.
There are two types of Wax Melters:
Tea Light Candle Melters & Electric Wax Melters.
To use a tea light candle melter, place a tea light candle at the bottom & the wax melts in the dish at the top. Once melted, the wax melts will release their scrumptious aroma into the air.
*Note that using a tea light candle melter in a cool, air-conditioned room may affect the wax melting process, as the cooler air can reduce the melter's heat, impacting the fragrance release.*
Alternatively you can use an Electric Wax Melter. These are a perfect choice if you do not feel comfortable having an open flame in your home.
*For electric wax melters, we recommend following the instructions provided by the manufacturer as they may vary between brands.*
How much wax should I melt?
This all depends on 2 factors. The room size & how strong you desire the fragrance to be.
For smaller rooms, you only need a small amount. Eg: 2 of our Fairy Bread's.
For larger living spaces, we would recommend using 3 or 4 Fairy Breads.
Ultimately it is up to you & how strong you like your fragrance to be.
How long does the fragrance last?
An exact time frame cannot be accurately calculated as it ultimately depends on how you care for your wax melts.
On average our 120g boxes could last you up to 100 hours which is great value for money!
At Snacky Co we exclusively use Soy Wax which has a lower burning point which results in the fragrance lasting longer as it burns away the fragrance slower.
We also use the maximum load of premium fragrance to ensure a high quality, long lasting product.
To get the most out of our Wax Melts, we recommend following our guide below.
Wax Melt Care Guide:
- Do not burn your wax melts for longer than 4 hours at a time.
This will make the fragrance oil burn away quicker as it is exposed to heat longer.
This is also recommended as your slowly become desensitised to the scent after a period of time. So you will not be able to smell the fragrance as much. - Wait until the Wax is completely cooled (room temperature) until you reheat the wax again.
- Store all of your Wax Melts in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Exposure to sunlight may reduce the fragrance faster.
-
We recommend using your Wax Melts within 6 months to ensure optimum performance, however they can last up to one year.
Other Safety Instructions: - Keep all Wax Melts out of reach from children & pets.
-
Keep wax melts in their original packaging with "Do Not Consume" label.
*We are not liable for any consumption of Wax Melts* - Never leave Wax Melter unattended while using.
- Never move the Wax Melter while burning.
- Do not place on or near electrical appliances.
- Keep away from external heat sources.
Disposal of Wax Melts:
As Wax Melts do not evaporate like candles do, due to not being exposed to a direct flame, you must discard of the wax.
You will know when to discard of the wax as it will no longer let off any fragrance. This usually occurs after 4/5 uses.
The easiest way to clean your wax dish is while the wax is still soft & hasn't completely cooled down after use. You can easily scrape out the wax & wipe the dish clean with a paper towel. Since it's soy wax, this process is much easier as the wax is naturally more oily.
*Avoid using any cleaning agents, as they can be harmful when reheating or may affect the Wax Melts if any residue is left behind.*
